Ashley Michel completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a minor in Food Function and Safety from McGill University. She also completed a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Concordia University.
During her time at Concordia University, she was involved in the Graduate Student Association as a member of the Board of Directors representing the John Molson School of Business and was the intern Vice President of Academic & Advocacy.
She is currently working as a Policy Analyst in the area of food labelling policy development. The modernization of food labeling in Canada is her main file. The objective of this work is to update the food labelling requirements to reflect current market practices, to improve access to information to help consumers make more informed decisions, protecting Canadians, and maintaining a healthy competitive environment for industry.
Ashley is a hard working, enthusiastic person who enjoys Muay Thai kickboxing, learning French, and Latin ballroom dancing. She is also interested in learning about in entrepreneurship, personal finance, investing, and health & nutrition.
